Accessibility statement

(Current status 25 February 2026)

Introduction

Dresden Marketing GmbH endeavours to make its website accessible to all users.

The requirements are based on Sections 3 and 4 of the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0), which is based on Directive (EU) 2016/2102.

In addition, the requirements of the Barrier-Free Accessibility Act (BFSG), which transposed Directive (EU) 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act) into German law, have been in force since 28 June 2025.

Diese Erklärung gilt für die Website: https://dresden-magazin.com/

Status of compliance with requirements

The website is partially compliant with the requirements of BITV 2.0 and WCAG 2.1 at conformity level AA.

The assessment is based on:

  • Self-assessment dated 14 June 2025
  • Technical review and implementation of identified measures by 25 February 2026
  • Template-Analyse (WordPress, Theme: Uku Child)
  • Keyboard and screen reader tests
  • Use of automated testing tools
  • BIK-BITV self-test

Measures already implemented (as of 25 February 2026)

  • Visible keyboard focus during tab navigation
  • Adding missing aria-label attributes
  • Improvement of colour contrasts in accordance with WCAG AA (≥4.5:1)
  • Keyboard operability of the cookie consent dialogue

  • aria label added to hamburger menu
  • aria label for close button added
  • ‘Skip to content’ jump link implemented

  • Correction of ARIA landmark roles
  • Semantically correct list structure
  • Alt text or decorative labelling of images
  • Contrast optimisation in the footer

Podcasts – Accessibility

Since the Accessibility Enhancement Act (BFSG) came into force on 28 June 2025, we have been providing accessible transcripts for newly published podcasts.

These include:

  • an HTML-readable transcript on the respective post page
  • a transcript integrated into the podcast player with jump marks
  • a precise full verbatim transcription

To ensure good readability despite the high level of detail, various display formats were tested and optimised.

In addition, the podcast player has been technically adapted, as it was not originally designed to display transcripts. The transcript display is functioning correctly.

The transcripts are archived and are also available as editable documents (.docx) if required.

Restrictions on the podcast player

The player currently has limited accessibility:

  • Start and pause functions can be operated via the keyboard
  • It is not possible to navigate forwards and backwards within the audio file using the keyboard.

As this is a third-party component, we are investigating further optimisation options.

Non-accessible content

Despite the measures implemented, the following restrictions apply:

Videos without subtitles

Some embedded videos do not currently have subtitles.
This applies, for example, to videos on the ‘Duel of the Romantics’ page.

This means that the requirements of WCAG 2.1 Success Criterion 1.2.2 (Subtitles for recorded videos) are not currently fully met.

We plan to provide subtitles for newly published videos in the future and are considering adding subtitles to existing content.

third-party components

Individual external widgets or embedded content may contain barriers over which we have limited influence in terms of their technical design.

Planned measures

  • Retrofitting subtitles for newly published videos
  • Testing an accessible alternative for the podcast player
  • Regular WCAG 2.2 testing
  • Editorial training courses on accessible content creation
