Neustadt

Dresden’s Neustadt district lies opposite the imposing old town. While baroque buildings and monuments still nestle along the Elbe in the inner Neustadt, the outer Neustadt towards Dresdener Heide is considered a trendy district for young, urban Dresdeners. Here you will find one hip café after another. Most of Dresden’s nightlife also takes place in this district. The Kunsthofpassage, a series of courtyards that showcase the creative side of Dresden with playful facades, art and culinary delights, is exemplary of the district. The streets of Neustadt invite you to take a stroll: The residential buildings from the Wilhelminian era have largely been preserved and conjure up a beautiful cityscape even away from imposing monuments.
